Mrs. Alice Watts Crews, age 88, of Purlear, N.C., died Sunday, Aug. 19,
2012. at her home.

Mrs. Crews was born Dec. 18, 1923, in Wilkes County, N.C., to Finley and Effie Blackburn Watts. She was a member of Lake Wales United Methodist Church, a member of Mars Hill Alumni and Appalachian State Alumni, and volunteered with Bok Towers Gardens in Lake Wales. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William H. Crews; and a son, Jimmy Crews.

Surviving are a son, Hilton Crews and wife Alicia of Purlear; daughter, Thelma Harris and husband Terry of Tallahassee; one brother, Dr. Earl Watts and wife JoAnn of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 25, at Miller Funeral Service with Rev. Tom Vannoy officiating.
