Robert ‘Bob’ Allan Colbourne

Robert “Bob” Allan Colbourne, 85, of Babson Park passed away Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at the Hawthorne Inn Assisted Living Facility in Winter Haven due to complications of Alzheimer’s.

He was born March 8, 1927 in Detroit, Mich., to the late Allan and Beulah (Warner) Colbourne; and came to Frostproof from Detroit 15 years ago.

Bob was a retired school principal for the Connecticut School System, a member of the First Baptist Church of Frostproof, a mason, and served in the National Guard.

Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen.

Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Christine Colbourne; stepdaughters, Teresa Norris (Wayne) of Babson Park and Grace Durrani; step-sons, Mike Cannon (Diane) of Frostproof and Celillon Alteme (Dieunique) of Brandon; sister, Winifred Woolsey of New Smyrna Beach; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

A funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at the First Baptist Church of Frostproof, with Rev. Darrol Hood and Rev. Celillon Alteme officiating.

Visitation is 10-11 a.m. at the church.

Interment will follow the service at the Silver Hill Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.marionnelsonfuneralhome.com.
