Mr. Elston G. Kuhn, 70, of Lake Wales, Fla., died on Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, of heart failure.

He was born on Nov. 28, 1941 in Miami and moved to Lake Wales 39 years ago from Miami. He was retired after 30 years as a landscape gardener for the Mountain Lake Corporation.

Elston was an original volunteer of the V.O.I.C.E. for the Lake Wales Police Department. He was a member and a Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #5643 and a member and a Past Faithful Navigator of the Fourth Degree Assembly #2209. He was a member and Eucharistic Minister of the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit in Lake Wales.

He is survived by two sons Stephen J. Kuhn of Lakeland and Michael A. Kuhn of Lusby, Md., two grandchildren Catherine A. Kuhn and Michael A. Kuhn, Jr., and his sisters Juliette Daniel of The Villages and Michele Best of Sioux City, Iowa.

Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, from 4-7 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home.

The Most Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit.

Inurnment will be made at a later date at Lake Wales Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mr. Kuhn’s name to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge at Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa, Florida.
