AGNES ALLEN

Agnes M. Allen, 88, of Lake Wales passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18,
2012 at the Osceola Regional Medical Center in
Kissimmee.

She was born May 25, 1923 in Orlando to the late Fred and Mary (Fritz) Anderson; being the wife of a military man, she lived all over the world, including Japan and Okinawa, but settled in Lake Wales in 1966 from Brooksville. She was a homemaker, but formerly worked at Waverly Credit Union and Act Media. She also worked as a sales representative for Tupperware and Avon because she enjoyed people; and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Winter Haven and Lake Wales Garden Club. Agnes was an avid football fan and was known as a great Southern cook and gardener.

Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Thomas Allen; daughter, Gail Marie Tomlinson; brothers, Carl Anderson, William Anderson and Fred Anderson; and a sister, Louise Wright. Survivors include her sons, Roger Charles Allen; daughter-in-law, LaRue Allen; son-in-law, Alan Tomlinson; and three grandchildren, Brett Tomlinson, Lee Tomlinson and Stephen Tomlinson, and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6 until
8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012 and the funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday,
Jan. 23, 2012 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Interment will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23, 2012 at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
