Those in attendance were mesmerized by the performances on stage. Here, the crowd listens to a stirring musical selection arranged by Gayle Jones Murphy, "Oh! What a Beautiful City" sung by Kimberly E. Milton, soloist.

The red ribbon cut the path to the future to what is now officially Polk State College Lake Wales Arts Center.

A commemorative ceremony took place Thursday afternoon, with city, county and state government officials in attendance.
