Lock cars and hide valuables, police note

Police have been going door to door in the neighborhoods of Highland Pointe, North Pointe, and Edgewater Drive with one message: Lock your car and secure your valuables. After a recent rash of burglaries which occurred Saturday night, police are trying to educate residents to avoid becoming victims of crime.

“The motive is clear,” notes Deputy Chief Troy Schulze, after a string of vehicle burglaries which occurred Saturday night in the neighborhoods of High Pointe, North Pointe, and Edgewater Drive.
“In each of the burglaries the offender(s) entered an unlocked vehicle and stole loose items which were easy to remove,” notes Schulze.
