Al Hawkins is known in the community for his many contributions. Though he moved away to New Jersey and became a high school principal, he returned to Lake Wales and helped organize the B Street Center. "I always wanted to come back," he noted.

Al Hawkins Jr., Clint Horne and Jerome Mack were presented "Three Musketeer" hats in remembrance of their lifelong friendship, having grown up in Lake Wales together. Carole Kuehn, a member of the B Street Board, presented the hats to them because that is her nickname for them, "The Three Musketeers."

Lake Wales High School Orchestra brought a portion of their group, since the ballroom would not hold all of them, according to one of their chaperones. Here, 11th grader Amanda Macri and 10th grader Eric Roque Sanchez play their instruments skillfully while those awaiting dinner were treated to an angelic concert.
