A burn ban issued by Polk County Fire Rescue on Thursday, Feb. 7 due the extended drought will have no impact on the Lake Wales Fire Department.

“We already have a burn ban in effect,” said Perry Daughtry, Lake Wales Fire Department deputy fire chief. “Outdoor burning for any reason is prohibited within the city limits unless a permit has been issued.”
