Lake Wales Police Department will soon be enforcing the parking ordinance in downtown Lake Wales.

There are more than 1,000 parking spaces in downtown Lake Wales but 90 percent of them belong to private companies.
As a result, the number of public parking spaces is limited and that has created a problem for customers trying to access stores and other businesses.
