They are an example of what happens when community partnerships get together: Debra Edwards Principal Roosevelt Academy; Trina LeBlanc Store Mgr. Lake Wales Care Center; Ann Tankson Associate Superintendent of School-based Operations; Keith Barker Occupational Job Training, Roosevelt Academy; John Berry Store Mgr. Lake Wales Care Center.
Lake Wales Care Center was awarded first place in the middle/high school division of Polk County Schools Superintendent’s Partnership program for their work with Roosevelt Academy, a vocational school located in Lake Wales that works with students from all over Polk County.
This 10 year partnership has proven to be mutually beneficial, providing students great job training and life experience working in Care Center’s various programs, and giving Care Center a reliable volunteer base to help in the day-to-day operations of their programs.
