School Board to discuss
online learning, other initiatives Tuesday
The Polk County School Board and staff will discuss prospective online learning for students at three career academies at their Tuesday work session and board meeting. They will consider a proposal from Penn Foster Virtual High School to provide an online vehicle for students at Ridge, and Traviss Career Centers and Davenport Fresh Start School to complete their secondary education requirements.
As well, the board will review the district’s legislative priorities for 2013. The priorities are presented in brief during a meeting with Polk’s legislators, held annually and sponsored by the Board of County Commissioners.
