This is a chance for the community to get a better understanding of how healthy they are, or whether they may need to seek medical attention. A free community health fair, sponsored by the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, the Lake Wales YMCA, Kappa Omicron Omega Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Meeks & Denmark, L.L.P., and State Farm Insurance, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event is being held at Shiloh Missionary Baptist church at 343 D. Street in Lake Wales. The theme of the fair is “Your Heart Matters,” and will include health demostrations, blood pressure screenings, diabetic literature, dental care, breast health information, height-weight-BMI, massage therapy, nutrition, exercise ideas (how to start), Ask a Nurse (general medical, medication management, etc.), Ident-a-kid. Also there will be a Financial Literacy Presentation from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the main Sanctuary at the church. Snacks will be provided throughout the event.
