Janan Sherer, 5th grade teacher at Spook Hill Elementary, received the Progress Energy Grant. She plans to spend the $2000 on new science equipment and materials for the school. Fifth graders take the Science FCAT 2.0 in April and Sherer hopes the new equipment and materials will allow students to gain more experience in science, therefore boosting their FCAT scores.
