Lake Wales High School Principal Donna Dunson and LWCS Foundation Chair Robin Gibson are confident the renewal deadline will be met.
The clock is ticking for five Lake Wales Charter Schools trying to beat the Nov. 19 deadline to renew their applications. The LWCS system operates under a performance contract with the Polk County School Board. The legal agreements will renew the contracts for 15 years.
Bok Academy Principal Damien Moses had an earlier renewal date last spring since Bok Academy was a start-up school. He created a template for use by the five conversion charter schools, Lake Wales High, and four elementary schools: Hillcrest, Janie Howard Wilson, Polk Avenue and Babson Park.
