Chick and Hawk, Clinton Horne and Al Hawkins Jr., hold recent awards for Center that recorded 20,000 visits last year.
It’s a fight to the finish that is sure to end with clean plates. The first annual “Battle of the Guns and Hoses Barbeque” will pit the Lake Wales Police and Fire Departments in a cook-off on Sat., Nov. 10. The biggest winner will be the B Street Community Service Center.
“B Street is the place to go for help,” said Chick and Hawk, Clinton Horne and Al Hawkins Jr., the driving forces behind the Center that recorded 20,000 visits last year alone. The two classmates returned home to Lake Wales after retiring from successful careers. The dynamic duo became a trio when they joined forces with Jerome Mack, Mr. Mack, the retired principal of Janie Howard Wilson Elementary.
