Students Ruben Lopez (l-r), Tanarris Cannon, Raina Curlee, Hunter Sousa, Tieranie Cannon, Theodore Watkins-Covington and Pete Anderson are excited about the Chess Club, one of several new after-school activities at Janie Howard Wilson Elementary.
Part of the fun of going to school is the extracurricular activities, and there are a variety of them to choose from for any student that is interested.
The Exploration Station After-School Program is for students in grades 3-5. They can participate in clubs such as the Technology Club, Green Team Club, Art Club, Dance Club, Yearbook and Journalism, Etiquette Club, and Chess Club. Activities include PowerPoint presentations, gardening, fashion design, urban hip-hop dance, campus news reporting, proper place setting at tables, and chess tournaments.
