More than 350 walkers have registered for today’s fifth annual Lake Wales Medical Center Healthy Woman Breast Cancer Awareness walk from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.

“With breast cancer affecting one in eight women, it’s an issue that hits home to so many people that it’s hard to find someone whose life hasn’t been touched by breast cancer,” says Maryemma Bachelder, LWMC director of marketing. “We started getting the word out about the walk earlier this year and increased our Internet marketing, but we received the greatest response from word of mouth.”
