The Sassy Singers, a local women’s choral group, is tuning up for their new season. They rehearse weekly on Tuesdays from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Hope Presbyterian Church in Winter Haven, and their first rehearsal this season is on Tues., Sep. 11. Rehearsal runs September through April, with performances starting in October. Current members hale from Lake Wales and Winter Haven and new members are always welcome.

The chorus has become quite popular in Eastern Polk County. Consisting of nearly 35 members, they perform songs from “Broadway” shows, pop/patriotic/comedy tunes and other light choral music in two, three or four parts. They have performed over the past 22 years for a variety of organizations in Polk County (eg Lake Wales, Winter Haven, Haines City, Bartow, Indian Lake Estates, etc.). Audiences have included civic clubs, resorts, retirement centers, nursing homes, hospitals and churches.
