Lake Wales, like many municipalities around the country, is carefully watching its pennies. During budget workshops this summer the city commission has asked tough questions as it has tries to work with a tight budget. Some of those have been directed at the Lake Wales Police Department’s take-home car policy.

Mayor Mike Carter said he is concerned about the true costs to the citizens of Lake Wales.
