Is it the sun? No - another bright flash follows a loud boom as the fireworks display at Lake Wailes gets underway.
Not every town had two fireworks celebrations this year, but Lake Wales did.
And in fact, according to City Manager Terry Leary, many towns across the nation had to cancel their fireworks displays because of the lack of funds to provide them.
