McLaughlin Middle School and Fine Arts Academy students, teachers and field trip chaperones are pictured here in front of the Metroplitan Opera House in the Josie Robertson Plaza at the Lincoln Center. The group visited New York City and Washington D.C. in June for a seven-day tour. The students, their families, and school staff worked very hard at a number of fund-raisers to pay for the trip.
Having wrapped up production of “Thoroughly Modern Millie,” the story of a small town girl who goes to the big city, several local students recently followed in Millie’s footsteps.
A group of 38 students from McLaughlin Middle School and Fine Arts Academy put in many hours of hard work, raising funds to pay for a June trip to New York City and Washington D.C. This was not only a first for most of the students, but for the school as well, with this being the first such trip of its kind. Sixth- through eighth-graders signed up in October, according to school officials, and each deposited $100 toward the trip.
