Lake Wales Charter School Board chairman Cassandra Denmark, who was approved for a second year of service as the board's chair at Thursday's meeting, holds her cell phone for light as she swears in the board's two newest members, Cheryl Garnett and Danny Gill. The lights (being on a timer) went out in the Lake Wales High School Library, and the remainder of the meeting was orchestrated via security lights.

The Lake Wales Charter School met its goal, and in Lake Wales High School Library Thursday evening, the group celebrated.

The Lake Wales Charter School approved the 2012-2013 budget for the upcoming school year, which is due each year by July 1.
