The Lake Placid Green Dragon junior varsity boys’ basketball team lost a close one, 39-35, to the Okeechobee Brahmans Friday evening, Jan. 25, in a game played there.

After a tough first quarter, which found Okeechobee leading, 14-5, Lake Placid had some good moments in the second as Kaetwon Lowe and Faleh Abuelouf threw down three-pointers. With the score at 23-14 as the teams headed into the second half, Abuelouf added another trey in the third quarter while teammate Ramon Galaviz sank a pair of field goals. The third-quarter score was 34-28 as the Dragons pulled to within 6. Markie McCray buried a trey in the fourth period helping Lake Placid make a four-point game of it down the stretch.
