A disastrous, scoreless second quarter sent the Lake Placid junior varsity boys’ basketball team to a 35-22 defeat at the hands of the LaBelle Cowboys Tuesday evening, Jan. 29, in a game played here at the Bill Ross Memorial Gymnasium.
The Green Dragons led this one, 10-7, at the end of the first quarter. Ramon Galaviz got things started for Lake Placid, posting up and sinking a jumper in the opening minute. He would go on to add a lay-up in the final minute of the game. Kaetwon Lowe buried a 15-footer and score again in the final minute. As a harbinger of things to come, however, the Green Dragons managed to miss three consecutive lay-up opportunities.
