The Lake Placid Green Dragon and Sebring Blue Streak boys’ varsity basketball teams closed out their regular-season schedules with a game played Thursday night, Jan. 31, in Sebring. Despite valiant play by the Green Dragons, Sebring prevailed by a 57-49 score.
Early action in the contest saw Lake Placid jump out to a 6-1 first-quarter lead as Heath Harris and Anfernee Munnings rained down back-to-back three-point baskets. Sebring’s Decaris Jones swished in another to bring the Blue Streaks back into contention, 7-6. Lake Placid point guard Munnings flashed passes to Nick Tuason and Nathan Stanley and then sank three charity tosses himself. Despite those heroics, Sebring led it, 14-12, at the end of the first period.
