It’s always fun to watch a team from “Little Ol’ Lake Placid” defeat a team from a much larger city, and the Lady Dragon varsity squad did just that Tuesday night, Jan. 22, taking down the Riverdale Raiders of Fort Myers, 53-39, in a game played in the Bill Ross Memorial Gymnasium...and the Riverdale people were not happy about it!

Lady Dragon point guard, Alexandria Coyne, had one of those nights we’re sure to remember after she graduates this spring. Two steals for lay-ups, a putback on a rebound and a marvelous pass to Shaquavia Gayle made the point to the visiting Raiders that they had to find a way to clamp down on Coyne. Lake Placid led it, 13-10, at the end of the initial eight minutes of play.
