Jenny Herstein drained four 3-point baskets in the JV win over Lake Wales. She pumped in two more against Hardee and four against Riverview.
Giving credence to the saying: “Good things come in small packages,” the Lake Placid Lady Dragon junior varsity basketball team rallied behind some extraordinary play by guard Jenny Herstein to overcome a talented and much taller Lake Wales Highlander team, winning, 34-29, in a game played Friday, Jan. 25, in the Bill Ross Memorial Gymnasium.
The first quarter was an extremely low-scoring affair, with the teams deadlocked at 2-2 with the scoreboard clock showing 2:05. In the final couple of minutes the Highlanders managed to score on a couple of missed defensive assignments and take an 8-2 lead.
