The Lake Placid Lady Dragon varsity basketball team traveled to Avon Park Friday, Jan. 18, and defeated the Red Devils in a convincing victory, 51-37. The win for Lake Placid, its second of the season over Avon Park, gave the Lady Green an unblemished, 8-0, record in Class 4A; District 10 play.

The win was also a bit of payback for Avon Park’s upset win over the Lady Dragons in last year’s district tournament which was also held there. “I reminded the girls not to forget what happened the last time we were in this gym. We wanted to beat them on their home court and go undefeated in district play,” said Coach Jackie Coyne. “This we did!” she added.
