The Lake Placid Middle School girls’ basketball team helped itself to a 30-22 win over Hill Gustat Monday evening, Jan. 7, in a game played here.

The Lady Dragons led the contest all the way, taking an 8-5 first-quarter advantage. They surged to a 20-7 lead at halftime. A strong third-quarter effort by the visiting Golden Eagles cut that lead a bit to 26-15, but Hill Gustat was never able to get closer than 8 points down the stretch.
