Dragon varsity suffers tough loss to Frostproof ‘Dogs, 66-57
The Lake Placid Green Dragon boys’ varsity basketball team led this game by as many as four points late into the third quarter before the Frostproof Bulldogs were able to turn things around in the final stanza and walk away with a 66-57 win over the Dragons Friday night in a game played here.
The Green Dragons got off to a very good, initial-quarter start against a Bulldog team which averaged a couple of inches taller across the lineup. Free throws by Nick Tuason and Marty Hickey as well as a great pass from Tuason to Nathan Stanley sent the Dragons up, 6-1, in the early going. Stanley recorded a steal and a whip-like pass to Anfernee Munnings to give Lake Placid a 10-6 advantage at 2:44. Tuason hit to make it 12-6 before Frostproof got two quick buckets before the buzzer to make it a 12-10 game.
