Lake Placid attorney John Sanders Haile was arrested Friday at his office here by Lake Placid police after an investigation into worthless checks.

Lake Placid Police Department Lt. James Fansler said worthless checks were written to cover repairs made to Haile’s office on Dal Hall Boulevard. The building was foreclosed by Highlands Independent Bank and sold to an unidentified buyer on Jan. 31.
