An Avon Park man died Thursday of injuries he sustained in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 27 at Lake Damon Drive, according to reports filed with the Florida Highway Patrol.

Gregory Meeker, 35, of Avon Park, died when the Chevrolet Impala he was driving pulled in front of a Ford F-250 pickup truck driven by Dan Anderson, 55, of Centerville, Pa. According to the FHP report, Meeker was westbound on Lake Damon Drive when he stopped the car for a stop sign and then drove into the path of Anderson’s truck which was northbound on U.S. 27.
