K-9 team assists in home burglary arrest
A K-9 unit from the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office played a critical role in a Thursday morning arrest after deputies were dispatched to a burglary of an
occupied home at 2606 Thunderbird Road in Sebring.
The first deputies to arrive on scene removed both victims from the home without injury. Deputies ordered the suspect out of the house, but he did not comply with their commands. A perimeter and established and a call went out for backup for the K-9 team of Deputy Tom Fort and his partner, Cain.
