Highlands Little Theatre honors memory of Roy Riedy at dedication
Highlands Little Theatre dedicated its new library and archives to Roy Riedy at a 5:30 p.m. ceremony Tuesday. Riedy, who passed away in 2008, taught English at Sebring High School for over 30 years. During his tenure there he inaugurated a course in theatre and acting and directed 21 plays.
Riedy’s first connection with Highlands Little Theatre was a review of the Cole Porter musical “Anything Goes” that he wrote for the News Sun, in 1982. He continued to participate both on and off stage as a director, actor, and reviewer. He received three Zenon Awards for his contributions, including the prestigious Jane Lou Buck Significant Achievement Award in 2002.
