Smiling and well-tanned youngsters have returned from a week-long summer camp at the Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranch at Inglis.
Again this year, 22 youngsters from Highlands County were escorted to the Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranch in Inglis for a week of summer camp activities. The youngsters were chaperoned by Deputies Helms, Purvis, Lightsey and Giguere and Sebring Police Officer Tindell, all School Resource Officers.
The camp hosts boys and girls from ages 10-15 from around the state at no cost to parents except for the physical exam required for acceptance. The one-week sessions go on throughout the summer and provide an opportunity for deputies and other law enforcement volunteers to interact with the youngsters and build positive relationships.
