USDA orange crop forecast lower

The U.S. Department of Agriculture this week lowered its estimate of the 2012-2013 Florida orange crop an additional two million boxes to 139 million boxes.

The Valencia variety declined three million boxes from the USDA’s February estimate to 72 million boxes. Early-mid varieties increased 1 million boxes, ending up at 67 million boxes.
