Lake Placid Mayor John Holbrook accepted Police Chief Phil Williams’ resignation at Monday night’s meeting of the Town Council. The resignation was actually a formality to tidy up loose ends.

Williams was appointed Town Administrator at a special Feb. 4 meeting. But then it was learned that the town charter dictates that he would need to officially resign the police chief post in order to hold the administor’s office.
