A formal gown at an official White House gala by former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy is on display at the Lake Placid Historical Society's Depot Museum.
Lake Placid is an interesting city for many reasons. Some are obvious, such as the town’s murals, caladiums, and an impressive history. Other treasures are a little less known, but add sharply to Lake Placid’s lore.
One such treasure is a formal dress that was worn by former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy at an official White House occasion in 1961. That dress is on display at the Lake Placid Historical Society’s Depot Museum.
