Church celebrates ‘Lady of Guadalupe’

At the conclusion of the Mass, the congregation joined in a procession led by six parishioners carrying a statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe out of the church to a shrine built for the occasion.

Sunday, Dec. 16 was the final day of celebration for the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe for members and friends of Comunidad Catolica Hispana Santiago Apostol on CR 621 in Lake Placid.
A celebration honoring the Blessed Mother, Queen of Mexico, began early in the morning on Sunday, Dec. 16 and continued into the afternoon. Father Luis F. Albarracin, Parochial Vicar, celebrated the 9 a.m. Mass and welcomed parishioners colorfully dressed in native attire to participate with him in the Mass. Led by the choir, the congregation sang hymns in honor of their beloved Lady of Guadalupe.
