ORLANDO (AP) — The largest number of cross-county commuters in Florida are those Broward County residents who drive to Miami-Dade County for work each day.

New commuter estimates released Tuesday by the U.S. Census shows that 125,000 Broward County residents drive to Miami-Dade County for their jobs.

That is by far the largest number of drivers who cross into another county for work in Florida.

The next highest group of cross-county commuters in Florida are the 81,000 Seminole County residents who drive to Orange County for jobs in the metro Orlando area.

Some 1 million Miami-Dade residents make their commutes within the county each day — the 7th highest number of commuters in the nation.

Broward County has the nation’s 15th largest number of commuters with 639,000 residents commuting within the county.
