If you want to know if parents in Polk County are concerned with safety in the schools after Friday’s mass killing in Newtown, Conn., consider this: When Greg Bondurant, Polk County’s Director of Safe Schools, returned from a morning of meetings Monday he was handed a list of parents he said he had to call back that day and it was three pages long.

And, that doesn’t even include the parents who called him Friday. Were the questions concerning the current safety situation or what the school district intends to do?
