Lamar Wilkes

Lamar Wilkes, 82, former resident of Bartow, passed away Sunday, March 17 due to respiratory failure.

He was born in Columbus, Ga., in 1931.

He attended Summerlin Institute and retired from the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant and Korean War Veteran. He is survived by his wife Nancy, brother Billy Wilkes, four grandsons in Fort Myers and two stepdaughters.

He was predeceased by two brothers and three half brothers, and by his son, Gary Wilkes.
