Patricia Y. Walkup

Patricia Y. Walkup, 80, died peacefully on Jan. 19, 2013, following a brief struggle with cancer.

She was born Patricia Marie Peacocke on Feb. 9, 1932, in Evanston, Ill., to father Vereker Tufnell John Peacocke and mother Mary Catherine Packham. After Vereker’s passing, Mary Catherine married Bernard Yoepp and together, they raised Patricia from a young age.

Mrs. Walkup was a retired bank manager for Union Planter Bank, and she moved to Fort Meade from Memphis, Tenn., in 1998. She attended Huntington College in Montgomery, Ala., was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Fort Meade, Fla., and loved to travel and cruise with her husband, Ed.

Mrs. Walkup was preceded in death by her husband Edgar (Edward) Louis Walkup on Dec. 10, 2011.

She is survived by her children, Gary Lyle Walkup and his wife, Linda, of Carbondale, Ill., James Barton McGee and his wife, Alicia, of Superior, Colo., Leslie Ann Walkup Ramsey, and Wendy Lynn Walkup Miller of Nashville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Steven and Katie Walkup, Lauren and Emily McGee, Timmy and Trisha Ramsey, and Jeff and Stacey Miller.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at the Christ Episcopal Church, Fort Meade.
