SARASOTA — The 2012 Flatsmasters Elite Pro Redfish Tour came to a close Sunday at Marina Jack, crowning a new champion with just 0.05 pounds separating the top finishers from the also-rans.

Fishing conditions Sunday were more challenging than the day before, with a 15-knot wind that refused to lie down. The breeze not only made sighting fish and casting more difficult, but it also kept the tide from dropping as expected. Still, the anglers who fish this tournament series are professionals, and four of the five teams that survived Saturday’s elimination round brought in respectable weights.
