James H. Thompson, 80, of Englewood, Fla., went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Friday, March 8, 2013, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was born in Dennis, Kan., to Ray and Elizabeth Thompson.
James was a resident of Englewood for over 36 years, where he was a Realty Broker and owner of James H. Thompson Realty in Englewood. He was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Englewood.
James is survived by his wife of 26 years, Joan; daughter, Roxanne Ramsey; sons, Clay and Matthew; stepchildren, Tomma Rolfe, Dusty Carpenter and Melinda Rodgers; 13 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, with funeral services to follow at Lemon Bay Funeral Home followed by burial at Gulf Pines Memorial Park of Englewood. In lieu of flowers donations will be gratefully received for Global Fundamental Baptist Mission, P.O. Box 1195, Newnan, Ga. 30264, or Tidewell Hospice.
