Larry William Edwards

Larry William Edwards, 58, of Englewood, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013.

He was born Aug. 25, 1954, at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota, Fla.

Larry was a 1972 graduate of Venice High School. He was an avid supporter of Jeff Gordon, and loved to watch NASCAR. Larry was also a fan of the Miami Dolphins football team. His favorite story to tell was of his 1968 yo-yo championship, where he scored a perfect 100 out of 100, to win the Rhode Island state title.

Larry is survived by his son, P.J. (Alissa) Edwards of Englewood; sister, Joyce H. Williams of Winter Park, Fla.; nieces, Shannon Williams of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Shawn Williams of Winter Park; and many cousins and friends. He was preceeded in death by his mother, Geraldine Hooper Edwards; and his father, Joeseph Everett Edwards.

A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at noon Saturday, March 9, 2013, at “The Oasis,” located at 810 Morningside Drive (off Pine Street), Englewood.

Arrangements are by Alan Moore Funeral Home.
