Kenneth H. Gooding
Kenneth H. Gooding, 82, of Englewood, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, Fla.
He was born Aug. 29, 1930, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Quentin and Delphine (nee Roach) Gooding.
Mr. Gooding, at age 14, met his future wife Kathlyn. They were married Nov. 17, 1951, and eventually settled in New Jersey, where he earned a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Fairleigh Dickenson University. Mr. Gooding was part owner of Ajax Transformer Company in Hackensack, N.J., before retiring to South Florida in 1988. He was a physical-fitness enthusiast, involved in long-distance running, cycling, golf and other activities.
Mr. Gooding leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, Kathlyn (nee Wieland) Gooding; four loving sons and their families, William (Annie) Gooding, David (Sharon) Gooding, Keith (Natalie) Gooding and Wayne (Richard) Gooding-Barr; and was the proud grandfather of Kyle, Sean, Christopher, Zackary and Erik. He was preceded in death by his older brother, William Gooding, in May, 29, 1951, a result of the Korean War.

The family will hold private services. As an active member of Fellowship Church of Englewood, Mr. Gooding’s sincere wishes are that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the church’s Facility Fund; send them to The Fellowship Facility Fund, P.O. Box 121, Englewood, FL 34295.
