Genevieve A. “Gen” Patterson, 78, of Venice, Fla., passed away peacefully at Tidewell Hospice House in Venice Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012.

She was born Oct. 14, 1934, in Cheboygan, Mich.

Gen was an avid bingo player, enjoyed gardening, and loved to bowl. In 42 years, she made hundreds of friends of Bill Wilsons and was a friend of many.

Genevieve is survived by her son, Daniel of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; daughters, Denise (Peter) Manguse of Englewood, and Dawn Patterson of Quaker Hill, Conn.; brother, Bill Fleury of Bitely, Mich.; granddaughter, Deanna Cotto; and great-granddaughter, Cheila Concepcion both of North Port, Fla. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Debra Kingsbury; and sister, Grace Visinau.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to, Tidewell Hospice House in Venice, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
