Katherine B. McIntosh, 89, of Englewood, Fla., passed away Thursday Dec. 20, 2012.

She was born July 11, 1923, in Ashville, N.C., to Arnold and Mable (nee Grahl) Brinkley.

Katherine was a switchboard operator for Sears and Roebuck in Ashville, and with Englewood Community Hospital before retiring.

She is survived by her son, Bruce (Sandy) McIntosh of Englewood; daughters, Jennifer (Ron) Jamison of Englewood, Kathy (Pat) Elliott of St. Petersburg, Fla.; sister, Betty Jo (Jack) Clontz of Alpharetta, Ga.; grandchildren, Chuck (Lori) McIntosh, Kay (Scott) Draper, Shannon (Lane) Rosenthal, Katherine Elliott, Laura Diggs, and Douglas (Tanya) Kluge; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved cats, Brady and Saddie. Katherine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray C. McIntosh.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, with a funeral service to follow at Lemon Bay Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Englewood Chapel.
