Today it’s not unusual to hear of someone purchasing property with a perfectly good house on it, then proceeding to demolish the structure, only to build another house. It’s what is called a “tear down.”
Back in the good old days in Englewood, you wouldn’t have heard of such extravagant goings-on. Goodness me, no. Tear down a good house? If you didn’t need a building any longer, why, you moved it, or you sold it, or you gave it to someone who could use it and they moved it.
